The annual parade became a big events under the watch of White Ribbon ambassador and local corrections chief Garry Bennett from the Katherine Men’s Group.
Mr Bennett has since been transferred by Corrections to Palmerston.
Katherine Times has spoken to several other people involved in the organisation if past events who remain hopeful some “event: may still be held in Katherine on November 23, although not a parade.
A spokeswoman for White Ribbon said there was no parade planned for Katherine for November 23, as had been done in recent years to promote the issue of men’s violence against women.

Last year more than 200 people marched from the United Service Station down the Stuart Highway.
Tindal RAAF Base has been a big supporter of past events.
The event wrapped up at the Lindsay Street complex, where the crowd listened to speeches from local men and women who had witnessed the impact of domestic violence in Northern Territory communities.
The community linked arms and took the pledge never to commit, excuse or remain silent about violence against women.

Aboriginal women in the Northern Territory are 36 times more likely to be victims of domestic violence than anyone else in Australia.
