Set to take to the stage this Friday night at the Katherine Country Club, the bus load of boys hit a snag on the outback road to Katherine yesterday morning.
"The bus [the Hotshots] have been driving on their tour stopped all of a sudden," Sydney Hotshots spokesperson Chaz Clark said.
"The boys got it towed to the nearest mechanic shop and after a lot of searching have found that the motor is no longer working and a replacement is needed to go any further."
Ms Clark said it was likely the bus was running on little water and overheated during the long distance covered between shows.
All tickets have been refunded.
Katherine ticket holders have been left in the lurch for the second year running.
Last year, the Hotshots cancelled their show following a crash encounter with a kangaroo.
About 10km outside of Halls Creek, the boys on tour swerved a kangaroo on the road, rolling the bus three times and writing the vehicle off.
Police and Emergency services were called to the scene, where no one suffered injuries.
The Hotshots were stranded in the small town, hundreds of kilometres from their next show in Darwin.
Despite the popularity of the show in previous years, acting general manager of the Katherine Golf Club, Matthew Cullen said a new liquor act, currently being reviewed in parliament, could prevent the Hotshots from re-visiting.
"We would have to pay for authority to have the strippers back," Mr Cullen said.
"Unfortunately it is a large expense for an adult entertainment authority when we only have about one show per year."
The acting general manager said the club was disappointing the Hotshots had cancelled for a second time.
"It is a popular show, and a lot of people had reserved tickets," he said.
