The simulators will support pilot training in the transition from the F/A-18A Hornets to the F-35A Lightning II at Number 75 Squadron.
Tindal RAAF Base is to receive 16 of the new planes to form its operational squadron.
Most of the pilot training on the F-35A will happen at Williamtown but the combat-ready planes will be headed for Tindal ready for deployment to the north.
Tindal is scheduled to take delivery from early 2022 "to reach its full squadron size by 2023".
Australia has received 30 of the fifth generation aircraft from Lockheed Martin already, based so far at Williamtown in NSW.
The US manufacturer is also involved in the high-tech aircraft simulators which will be allow pilots to practice "full missions.
Australia is buying 10 of the simulators, six to be located at Williamtown and four at Tindal.
