Riders were able to test drive the new mountain bike trails at Nitmiluk National Park on Monday, and the tracks didn't disappoint.

This was the first race held on the new trails at Nitmiluk organised by Katherine Multi Sport Club with support from Darwin Off Road Cyclists (DORC).
Fifty five starters hit the track cheered on by family and friends. Most riders travelled to Katherine from the Darwin area, but some came from as far away as Larjamanu and Alice Springs.
About ten local riders represented Katherine and punched above their weight - perhaps the local home ground advantage helped!

The race was the season opener for the club with more events planned for July and August.

Men's third place - Ben Wright (Katherine)
Women's first place - Rowena Eastick (Darwin)
